Xpeng's monthly deliveries continued to rise as it ramps up production capacity for its G6 SUV.

The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered 15,310 vehicles in September, its fourth-highest ever and eighth sequential increase, according to data it released. That's up 80.80 percent year-on-year and 11.83 percent from August.

The Xpeng G6 delivered 8,132 units in September, contributing 53.12 percent of the company's monthly deliveries. The model's cumulative deliveries since its launch on June 29 reached 19,381 units.

The current significant expansion of Xpeng's G6 production capacity has accelerated deliveries of the model, Xpeng said.

Xpeng delivered 40,008 vehicles in the third quarter, the second highest on record and within the guidance range of 39,000 to 41,000 units. Deliveries for the quarter were up 35.3 percent year-on-year and 72.41 percent from the second quarter.

Since inception, Xpeng's cumulative deliveries stand at 340,153 units. Following its debut at IAA Mobility 2023 in early September, Xpeng has begun to accelerate its international expansion.

At the end of September, Xpeng launched the first customer deliveries of the Xiaopeng G9 in four European countries -- Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and Denmark, it said.

Xpeng launched the new SUV G6 in China on June 29, offering competitive pricing as well as strong specifications.

The model faced the challenge of a slow capacity ramp-up in its initial availability, with initial wait times of more than 10 weeks. Most of the G6's versions now have wait times of 7-8 weeks.
