SAIC-GM-Wuling has stepped up efforts to expand its global footprint, following a business trip to Mexico and Brazil aimed at strengthening partnerships and identifying new growth opportunities.

From March 4 to March 15, Executive Vice President Huang Yaosong led a delegation to the two markets, focusing on local market dynamics, policy developments and future cooperation plans.

During the visit, the company held talks with regional partners on expanding exports, deepening strategic collaboration and supporting long-term market growth.

Mexico: New Projects Seen as Key Growth Driver

Mexico, SAIC-GM-Wuling’s largest overseas market, was the first stop of the trip.

The company exported about 130,000 vehicles to Mexico in 2025, with several models performing strongly across key segments.

In meetings with General Motors Mexico, discussions centered on market trends, regulatory changes, customer demand and product performance. The two sides also outlined preliminary plans for future business development.

The delegation also visited GM’s technical center and its Toluca plant, reviewing operations, quality management and after-sales services, while identifying areas for product optimization and technical improvement.

SAIC-GM-Wuling said new projects in Mexico are expected to play a key role in driving future growth, highlighting execution as a critical priority.

Brazil: Targeting Growth in New Energy Vehicles

In South America, SAIC-GM-Wuling exported around 34,000 vehicles in 2025, marking a record high.

As part of the trip, the company visited Brazil for the first time and held discussions with General Motors South America.

Talks covered the broader market landscape, segment trends and the development of new energy vehicles, including policy support and future growth potential. The two sides also reviewed competitor models and upcoming product plans.

The delegation visited dealerships in São Paulo to gain first-hand insights into local competition and consumer demand, which will help shape the company’s strategy in the Brazilian market.

South America Sales Set to Grow Further

Under its global expansion strategy, SAIC-GM-Wuling has continued to strengthen its presence in Mexico and South America.

Since launching the E260S PLUS and F510S EV in Brazil in 2025, both models have delivered steady sales growth.

The company expects its South America sales to reach around 45,000 units in 2026, suggesting a more stable and expanding market base.

The visits to Mexico and Brazil have provided SAIC-GM-Wuling with deeper insights into overseas markets and customer demand, while reinforcing ties with local partners.
