Hyper, a sub-brand of GAC Aion, has unveiled a new model, the Hyper HT, and has begun pre-sales of it, one version of which features falcon-wing doors similar to those on the Tesla Model X.
Hyper officially unveiled the Hyper HT, its third model and the brand's first SUV, at a launch event. The Hyper HT is a mid-to-large-sized all-electric SUV with a pre-sale starting price of RMB 220,000 yuan.
The model measures 4,935 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,700 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,935 mm. It will be available in four pre-sale variants, all of which are rear-wheel-drive, single-motor models.
The Hyper HT's entry-level version has an electric motor with peak power of 180 kW and peak torque of 355 Nm, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
The other three versions all have motors with peak power of 250 kW and peak torque of 430 Nm, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 5.8 seconds.
Hyper has not announced pre-sale prices for each of the four models, but apparently the version with the falcon-wing doors will sell for the highest price, which also comes with three LiDARs, while none of the other versions have them.
The entry-level version of the Hyper HT is based on a conventional 400-volt platform and can get a range of 140 kilometers on a 10-minute charge at the fastest, with a CLTC range of 600 kilometers on a full charge.
