On July 29, BYD announced that the 1 millionth BYD Song PLUS New Energy vehicle has rolled off the production line.

BYD stated that since the Song PLUS New Energy was launched just over three years ago, it has sold over 1 million units, making it the first Chinese new energy SUV to reach this milestone.

With the production of the 1 millionth Song PLUS New Energy, the vehicle has also received a major upgrade.

The new 2025 Song PLUS DM-i was launched on July 25, featuring BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, which enhances fuel efficiency and performance.

The new model’s NEDC fuel consumption in electric mode is only 3.9L per 100 km, with a combined range of up to 1500 km on a full tank and full charge.

In comparison, the previous generation Song PLUS DM-i with the fourth-generation DM-i technology had a fuel consumption of 4.5L/100 km and a range of 1200 km, so the new model’s range has increased by 300 km.

Additionally, several media outlets have tested the 2025 Song PLUS DM-i and found that its full-tank and full-charge range exceeds 2000 km, achieving an "industrial miracle" in fuel efficiency similar to the Qin L.

It is expected that with the launch of the 2025 Song PLUS DM-i, BYD’s Song PLUS New Energy SUV will challenge even higher sales records.
