On August 27, 2024, Skyworth Auto and Polytron, a high-tech subsidiary of Indonesia’s Djarum Group, signed an important strategic cooperation agreement in Jakarta, Indonesia. This agreement includes the construction of a KD (Knocked Down) factory, joint product development, and the localization of hardware and software. It marks a significant step in promoting and localizing new energy vehicles in the Indonesian market.

Founded in 1951, Djarum Group originally focused on tobacco but now plays a major role in Indonesia’s market. The group also owns Indonesia's largest private bank, Bank Central Asia, and is involved in consumer electronics, real estate, electric vehicle manufacturing, and communications. As one of Southeast Asia’s largest commercial groups, Djarum Group’s partnership with Skyworth will significantly impact Indonesia’s economic development, driving progress and innovation across various industries.

Under the agreement, Skyworth and Polytron will set up a KD factory in Indonesia. This factory aims to streamline the supply chain, reduce costs, and improve the competitiveness of products by localizing production. Additionally, the partners will develop new energy vehicles tailored to the Indonesian market and explore localized hardware and software solutions to meet local consumer needs.

Skyworth Group founder Huang Hongsheng, Co-founder and CEO of Skyworth Group Zhu Ping, and Skyworth Auto Co-CEO Han Biwen, along with other top executives, attended the signing ceremony, highlighting Skyworth's strong commitment to this partnership. Polytron’s core management team, including CEO Mr. Hariono, COO Mr. Roberto, and CFO Mr. Guido, also participated in the event.

The two companies plan to produce nearly 10,000 Skyworth vehicles over the next three years. This move not only strengthens their partnership but also contributes to regional development and supports Indonesia’s green economic growth.

On August 28, the day after the signing ceremony, the Skyworth delegation visited various Djarum Group factories and had in-depth discussions with different departments at Polytron’s headquarters in the Krapyak factory.
