Jiangling Motors Corporation's Ford Territory has been awarded the Ford Global Quality Excellence Award, one of the automaker's highest recognitions for product quality, the company announced this week.

The award follows a series of milestones for the Territory model. In 2024, it topped Ford's global 3MIS quality rankings seven times. In 2025, it recorded the lowest per-vehicle maintenance cost in Ford’s global lineup, according to internal metrics.

JMC attributed the recognition to its ongoing efforts to enhance product reliability. Since 2021, the company has implemented a comprehensive “Quality First” strategy, focusing on every stage of vehicle development—from design and manufacturing to procurement and after-sales service.

The Territory’s design process incorporates advanced technologies and user-based development, along with digital validation tools aimed at improving accuracy and consistency. In supply chain operations, JMC uses digital platforms to monitor quality and mitigate risks early in the production cycle. Key components are subject to enhanced quality control measures and oversight by technical experts.

In manufacturing, the company introduced a process quality evaluation system covering 3,361 workstations and conducted more than 67,000 quality reviews. AI-based visual inspection tools have been deployed on the Territory's production line to monitor critical steps and detect irregularities. For export units, a vehicle-specific digital traceability system has been established.

JMC has also implemented a six-month quality control period for new models to strengthen after-sales responsiveness and service support.

Since its launch, the Ford Territory has become one of China’s major automotive exports. Between 2022 and May 2025, more than 208,000 units have been shipped to 67 countries and regions.
