Chinese automaker Jiangling Motors Corp. (JMC) has launched three new vehicle models in Chile as part of its efforts to expand its presence in the South American market. The launch, held recently in Santiago, introduced the Yuhu passenger pickup, the Yuhu electric pickup and the Fushun light commercial van.

During the launch, Astara’s brand manager outlined the vehicles’ design concepts, key features and performance benefits. JMC’s Latin America regional manager also presented the company’s development history and global product strategy, aiming to strengthen confidence among local stakeholders.

Despite a year-on-year decline in overall pickup sales in Chile from January to May 2025, Yuhu sales grew by 31% during the same period. The brand is now among the top three Chinese pickup exporters to Chile.

The introduction of the new passenger and electric variants is expected to broaden JMC’s product portfolio in the market and offer more choices to Chilean consumers.
