In August 2025, Skyworth Auto and Indonesia’s Polytron officially signed agreements on KD (knock-down) vehicle production and after-sales service. This follows a year of collaboration that began with a strategic MOU in Jakarta in August 2024 and the rollout of the first locally produced POLYTRON G3 electric vehicle in June 2025. The agreements formalize six months of close cooperation, turning strategic plans into full-scale production and structured operations in the Southeast Asian EV market.
The partnership has progressed steadily. The 2024 MOU established a framework for joint technology development and local capacity building. In May 2025, Polytron announced the establishment of Skyworth Auto’s KD factory and introduced the POLYTRON G3. By June, the first G3 vehicle rolled off the line, combining global technology with local expertise.
The companies have worked closely on quality control, integrating inspection processes and real-time response mechanisms to ensure product standards at every step. They have also developed standardized production processes. A key part of the collaboration is the “capacity-building” model: Skyworth Auto leads production standards during certain phases and trains Polytron’s local team, gradually transferring knowledge to enable autonomous operations. The KD production agreement sets out this transition from Skyworth support to Polytron independence, while the after-sales service agreement ensures a local service network, spare parts availability, and timely support for Indonesian customers.
From the MOU to the dual agreements, Skyworth Auto and Polytron have focused on long-term cooperation and careful implementation. As POLYTRON G3 continues to expand in Indonesia and the local team gains full production capability, the collaboration has become a model of Chinese manufacturing and emerging-market integration, supporting high-quality development in Southeast Asia’s EV industry.
Looking ahead, the agreements mark both a consolidation of past achievements and the start of the next phase of cooperation. Skyworth Auto and Polytron plan to continue deep collaboration across products, technology, and services, delivering high-quality electric vehicles to Indonesian consumers. Centered on joint technology development and local capacity building, the partnership aims to promote a standardized and high-quality EV market in Southeast Asia and contribute to the global EV industry’s long-term growth.
