On August 29, the 28th Chengdu Motor Show officially commenced. Under the theme of “Crafting the Era, Creating the Success”, JAC Motors displayed its achievements in the transformation toward high-end and intelligent manufacturing, showcasing a range of flagship vehicles and technological innovations. The exhibition comprehensively illustrated JAC Motors’ strategic direction in transitioning from a traditional manufacturing enterprise to a technology-driven organization.

The twin new energy pickups have been officially launched in the Chinese market.

On the opening day of the auto show, JAC Motors launched its new energy flagship pickups — the T9 PHEV and T9 EV — to the Chinese market.

T9 PHEV&T9 EV

As the world’s first pickup featuring a system-wide torque of 1,000 N·m, the T9 PHEV is built upon JAC Motors’ independently developed “H-Power Super Hybrid Architecture”, delivering a maximum pure electric range of 100 kilometers and a combined driving range exceeding 1,000 kilometers. With its versatile product capabilities encompassing commercial use, passenger comfort, off-road performance, and electric efficiency, the T9 PHEV redefines the boundaries of traditional pickups. The T9 EV Honor Edition, launched concurrently, marks China’s first non-load-bearing full-electric four-wheel drive pickup. Equipped with an 88 kWh battery from CATL, it offers a CLTC range of more than 500 kilometers, further solidifying JAC Motors’ position in the new energy pickup segment.

The Maextro S800 sets a benchmark for advanced technology and refined luxury.

As a flagship outcome of the deep collaboration between JAC and Huawei, the Maextro S800 has attracted widespread industry attention since its launch on May 30. Within just 87 days, the model has secured more than 12,000 firm orders, representing a major breakthrough for Chinese automotive brands in the ultra-luxury intelligent new energy vehicle segment.

The Maextro S800 exemplifies a harmonious blend of design philosophy and technological innovation. Drawing inspiration from the concept of “harmony among heaven, earth, and humanity” and the aesthetic of “horizon and starry expanse”, it also introduces a suite of advanced technologies, including the HUAWEI ADS 4 intelligent driving system, Tuling Longxing digital chassis, and 800V high-voltage architecture. These innovations have redefined industry standards for intelligent vehicles in terms of safety, comfort, and performance.

JAC Maextro Super Factory was recognized as the national-level intelligent manufacturing benchmark enterprise

In terms of manufacturing, the Maextro S800 is produced at the Maextro Super Factory, a joint facility established by JAC Motors and Huawei, serving as a robust foundation for the brand. Recently, the factory was recognized as the sole automotive enterprise selected among the national-level intelligent manufacturing benchmark enterprises, owing to its fully digitalized production line, AI-powered quality inspection system, and industrial internet platform. This achievement sets a new benchmark for intelligent manufacturing in China’s high-end automotive sector.

Furthermore, the development of the Maextro brand is closely aligned with the advancement of the entire supply chain. JAC Motors and Huawei have established a “Quality Alliance” with over 220 leading global supply chain partners, collaborating on the research and development of core and frontier technologies. Together, they are making strides in the exploration of new architectures, materials, structures, and manufacturing processes, collectively venturing into the uncharted territory of ultra-luxury intelligent new energy vehicles.

Against the backdrop of the automotive industry’s accelerated shift toward electrification and intelligentization, JAC Motors continues to pursue a dual-path strategy of independent innovation and open collaboration, reinforcing its core competitiveness.

In the first half of 2025, JAC Motors invested RMB 2.216 billion in research and development, representing a year-on-year increase of 34.47% and accounting for 11.44% of its total revenue. While achieving breakthroughs in key core technologies, JAC Motors has strengthened its core capabilities through strategic collaborations with leading academic teams, including those led by Academicians Zhong Zhihua and Li Yadong, focusing on cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) and after-treatment technologies.

JAC and Huawei signed a strategic cooperation agreement

JAC Motors has also continuously expanded the scope of its strategic partnership with Huawei. In June 2025, both parties signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement to jointly advance in key areas including intelligent vehicle solutions, enterprise digitalization and intelligent transformation, and green and low-carbon development. This collaboration aims to accelerate the electrification, intelligence, and connectivity of the automotive industry. The agreement marks a new phase of strategic alignment between the two organizations, under which they will deepen cooperation based on their respective strengths, with the shared objective of long-term development and the establishment of a sustainable strategic partnership.

As part of this strategic alignment, JAC Motors has systematically benchmarked against Huawei’s management framework, advancing process-oriented organizational reforms such as IPD (Integrated Product Development), ISC (Integrated Supply Chain), and LTC (Lead to Cash). The establishment of end-to-end resource capability centers has significantly improved R&D efficiency and resource integration, thereby driving high-quality enterprise development.

At the Chengdu Motor Show 2025, JAC Motors showcased flagship products including the Maextro S800 and the new energy pickup twin models, alongside innovative technologies such as the DEFINE prototype, RF8, and the all-domain line-controlled intelligent chassis, demonstrating its strategic layout in intelligent electrification.
