Chinese electric vehicle maker NIO has officially opened its first store in Costa Rica, marking its entry into the Latin American market.

The new location, NIO House | San José, opened on March 26 in the San José area. Representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The store was developed in partnership with Horizontes Cielo Azul, NIO’s national distributor in Costa Rica. This marks NIO’s first store in Latin America and its first overseas location featuring all three of its brands under one roof.

A New Experience Hub in San José

Located in Combai Mercado Urbano in San Rafael de Escazú, a well-known lifestyle destination, the NIO House is designed as a user-focused experience center.

The facility features a showroom, café, meeting rooms, and multi-functional open areas. Visitors can explore NIO’s smart electric vehicles and technologies, while the space also serves as a hub for social, cultural, and lifestyle experiences, strengthening long-term engagement with users.

The ONVO L90 will open for pre-orders on April 16 during EXPOMOVIL, one of the country’s largest auto shows.
