Denza today officially launched in Europe at a high-profile event held at the Paris Opera House. Under the theme “Tech-Driven Elegance,” the Chinese automaker introduced its flagship models, the Denza Z9GT and Denza D9, marking a key milestone in its global expansion.
The Denza Z9GT is a high-performance GT model built on the e-Ternary platform, offered in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid versions. The all-electric variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. Its independent rear-wheel steering enables precise maneuvers, including tight U-turns and crab-walking in narrow spaces, combining performance agility with luxury.
The Denza D9 DM-i, a flagship MPV, delivers a pure electric range of 210 km and a total range of 950 km with fuel, offering strong performance while remaining practical for everyday use. Together, the Z9GT and D9 provide European customers a comprehensive, full-scenario luxury mobility experience.
A highlight of the launch was the European debut of Denza’s ultra-fast charging technology, powered by BYD’s second-generation blade battery and supporting up to 1500 kW charging. The Z9GT can achieve a usable charge in 5 minutes and full charge in 9 minutes under normal conditions. Even in extreme cold at -30°C, it reaches full charge in just 12 minutes, addressing low-temperature charging challenges and making electric driving more convenient.
Li Ke, Executive Vice President of BYD, said: “‘Tech-Driven Elegance’ reflects Denza’s vision of new luxury. Our aim is to make daily life cleaner, easier, and more enjoyable through advanced technology. This achievement is the result of our 120,000-strong engineering team. We believe the world is ready to experience the best of technology, and Denza is here to deliver it.”
Following the launch, Denza announced the Z9GT’s pricing. The model is now available on official websites in seven European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, starting at €115,000 (over RMB 900,000).
Denza is accelerating its European expansion, planning to cover more than 30 countries with over 150 retail stores by the end of 2026. For charging infrastructure, BYD will deploy 6,000 overseas ultra-fast charging stations, including 3,000 in Europe, establishing an efficient and reliable charging network.
From appointing global ambassador Daniel Craig to the high-profile launch at the Paris Opera House, Denza is leveraging Chinese high-end manufacturing expertise to enter the European luxury car market. Looking ahead, the brand will continue to advance its “Tech-Driven Elegance” philosophy, bringing smart, sustainable, and luxurious mobility solutions to customers worldwide.
