Leapmotor has reached a key milestone in its overseas expansion, with local assembly of its flagship model, the Leapmotor C10, officially starting at the Gurun plant in Kedah, Malaysia. The move marks a new phase in the company’s international manufacturing footprint and further advances its strategy in Southeast Asia.

The launch of local production for the C10 was held alongside the distribution business inauguration of local dealer Cycle & Carriage (C&C). The two parties jointly announced progress in both manufacturing and distribution. Supported by Stellantis’ established local production capabilities and Cycle & Carriage’s extensive dealer network, Leapmotor is further strengthening its operational foundation in Malaysia while expanding access to new energy vehicles for local customers.

The C10 is a key model in Leapmotor’s Southeast Asia lineup. Since entering the Malaysian market, it has gained positive recognition for its overall product performance, electric drivetrain technology, and intelligent cockpit features. With local assembly now underway, delivery cycles are expected to shorten and supply chain costs are set to improve, enhancing the model’s competitiveness and better meeting local mobility demand.

Under the global partnership between Leapmotor and Stellantis, the Gurun plant is equipped with full vehicle manufacturing capabilities and operates under strict quality control standards to ensure consistent production and delivery. Beyond the C10, the Leapmotor B10 is also planned for local production at a later stage, further expanding the company’s product offering in Southeast Asia.

As it continues to grow in the domestic market, Leapmotor is steadily advancing its global strategy. The establishment of its Malaysian production base represents a shift from pure vehicle exports to a more integrated model combining local manufacturing and local distribution. Looking ahead, Leapmotor will continue working with global partners to enhance its overseas production, sales, and service network, bringing its new energy vehicles and smart mobility technologies to more international markets and accelerating its global expansion.
