BYD Executive Vice President Li Ke received the Sustainability and Connectivity Award at the Sustainability and Connectivity Forum held in Belgrade, Serbia, recognizing her contribution to advancing international cooperation and sustainable development.
The award reflects growing international recognition of BYD's efforts in new energy vehicle innovation and sustainable mobility, as the company continues to expand its presence across global markets.
Speaking with Xinhua News Agency during the event, Li outlined BYD's long-term strategy in Europe. She said the company is accelerating the introduction of advanced electrification technologies to the region while strengthening local supply chains and expanding cooperation with European partners. According to Li, BYD aims to contribute to the development of Europe's electric mobility ecosystem through deeper industrial collaboration.
Alongside the forum, BYD and its premium brand DENZA showcased the company's latest ultra-fast charging technology at Belgrade Arena. The system is capable of delivering a significant charge in five minutes and a full charge in nine minutes, highlighting BYD's vertically integrated development capabilities in batteries, electric powertrains and vehicle technologies.
The Belgrade event also marked the completion of the third stage of the Marco Polo New Silk Road expedition. A fleet of BYD battery-electric vehicles departed from Italy, crossed Europe and Asia, and completed a journey of more than 15,000 kilometers before arriving in China.
The cross-continental drive provided a real-world demonstration of the vehicles' reliability, durability and performance across diverse road conditions, terrains and climate environments.
BYD's new energy vehicles are now available in more than 100 countries and regions worldwide. The company continues to expand its international footprint through ongoing investments in technology development, product innovation and localized operations.
As global demand for low-emission transportation grows, BYD says it will continue advancing electric mobility solutions and supporting the transition toward a more sustainable transportation future through innovative technologies and high-quality products.
