Chinese premium automotive brand Hongqi has officially entered the Thai market with the launch of its flagship all-electric SUV, the E-HS9, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok.

The launch event was attended by government officials, business representatives and nearly 180 media organizations and guests, underscoring Hongqi's growing focus on Southeast Asia as part of its international expansion strategy.

Thailand is one of the region's largest and most competitive automotive markets and has become a key destination for electric vehicle investment. Hongqi said it plans to strengthen its presence in the country through localized operations, an expanded sales network and enhanced customer services.

As part of the launch program, the company presented a documentary highlighting the E-HS9's journey from Beijing to Bangkok. The vehicle completed a drive of approximately 6,000 kilometers, demonstrating its performance, comfort and intelligent features across diverse road and driving conditions. Thai media representatives who participated in test-drive activities also shared their impressions of the vehicle during the event.

Hongqi's Thai partner, Metro Group, outlined plans to support the brand's local development through dealer network expansion, brand-building initiatives and customer service programs. The two companies will work together to accelerate Hongqi's growth in the Thai market.

During the event, Hongqi also announced the official pricing of the E-HS9 in Thailand. The flagship electric SUV is priced from 2.99 million baht, with the offer available for the first 400 customer orders.

The launch represents Hongqi's latest step in expanding its overseas footprint as the company continues to increase its presence in international markets. Through partnerships, localized operations and an expanding product portfolio, Hongqi aims to strengthen its position in Southeast Asia and support its broader global growth strategy.
